The Taft University System

For decades William Howard Taft University has offered distance learning graduate degree programs to students throughout the world. Presently the University offers nationally accredited programs in business and education.

William Howard Taft University is a member of The Taft University System, Inc. The Taft University System has over three decades of providing quality independent study programs to mature adults and professionals. Few people would have projected when we offered our first continuing education programs to certified public accountants in 1976, that the University would evolve into one of the most respected nationally accredited distance learning institutions in the country offering innovative graduate
degree programs. In 1976, computer-assisted research was in its infancy and the Internet was known only to a few individuals in the Department of Defense. The massive expansion of the Internet now allows students access to quality learning resources from virtually anywhere in the world.

In 2008, The Taft University System separated William Howard Taft University’s Schools of Business and Education from its School of Law. While remaining under common control, Taft Law School is now an independent educational institution with its own catalog and website. All of the law school programs previously offered by William Howard Taft University, including the Juris Doctor Programs, are now offered through Taft Law School.

In June 2003, the University was awarded accreditation by the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council. As a result of a review of a comprehensive self-study prepared by The Taft University System and a report prepared by the chairperson of a site review team, our accreditation was re-affirmed in 2008.

We invite you to contact our Admissions Office if you have any questions.
