I currently am a writer, researcher, and consultant who works with leaders from all over the world on breakthrough strategies designed to improve performance and overcome resistance to change. My interest in this area comes from a research agenda that includes consideration for the emerging body of research in brain science and adult learning theory. I have worked with hundreds of organizations over the past ten years throughout the United States, Switzerland, and New Zealand, including schools, fortune

100 companies, churches, hospitals, and even prisons. My latest book, Creating the Anytime, Anywhere Classroom: A Blueprint for Learning Online in Grades K12, was published by Solution Tree Press in 2017. In 2015, I released a book with coauthor Dr. Richard DuFour, entitled Professional Learning Communities at Work and Virtual Collaboration: On the Tipping Point of Transformation. Furthermore, I have published four other books in the past five years including my first publication, Leading a Learning

Before moving into my academic and consulting work, I was a principal of an urban building that was once the largest in the state of Ohio.  My work in this area, as well as my other scholarly endeavors, have been featured in Educational Leadership and I’ve been a national presenter numerous times with the National Association of Secondary School Principals, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the Southern Regional Education Board, and the University Council for Educational Administration.

I earned my Ph.D. in Educational Administration from Bowling Green State University in 1999.  In addition to leadership consulting and research, I specialize in instructional design; having developed over fifty master’s and doctoral-level distance learning courses since 2003.
