Dr. Stewart served as a public school teacher, counselor, building administrator and district administrator for 29 years; 22 of which were in Alaska.  During his public school service in Alaska, he served on several state committees developing the state’s standards-based assessments and the Alaska High School Graduation Qualifying Exam. One of his greatest successes as a district administrator was serving on a team which developed a performance-based high school in his local school district.

Dr. Stewart currently is an associate professor of education at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas.  At ACU, he serves as the associate chair for Teacher Education Department and teaches classes for secondary education teacher candidates.

Dr. Stewart’s interests include personalized learning, blended learning, effectively utilizing technology in education, and improving grading practices to improve student learning.
